Name/Occupation
My name is Erica Madore. I am the Director of First Impressions at Austin Associates, P.A in Auburn, ME.

What brought you to L/A to: Live? Work? Recreate?
I was born and raised in Lewiston. I always knew that someday, I would return back to my roots.  In 2005, I graduated from Western New England University in Springfield, MA with Bachelors in Marketing/Communication. After college I worked and lived in the Boston area until 2010 when I decided to pursue a career in Maine to be closer to family and friends.

How would you like to see the city of Lewiston focus efforts on downtown revitalization?
Three words come to mind. Preserve, enhance, and create.  Preserve the beauty of the city, the arts, and the culture. Enhance downtown buildings by continually encouraging the birth of new business. Create reason and opportunity for young professionals to relocate to downtown L/A.

How do you view Maine’s “healthy living culture”?
Maine’s healthy living culture is promising, although I believe it lacks cohesion. As a personal trainer and health and wellness advocate I think there is movement in the right direction.  I’m working hard within my own company, and with local organizations to make healthy living a priority, and ensure that we continually promote the importance of achieving and living a healthy lifestyle.

How has your life changed since you moved to Auburn?
My life has drastically changed since I moved to Auburn, professionally, socially, and personally. Living and working in this city has allowed me countless opportunities to get involved and be a part of something great. I have lived in many places, and this is the first place I have truly felt at home.

What is your favorite city ever visited and why?
This will probably sound cliché, but Las Vegas is by far my favorite.  I was fortunate enough to work out in LasVegas for a period of time and experienced all the city has to offer…breathtaking views while hiking the Red Mountains, meeting the most interesting and influential people in my fitness career, experiencing an economic culture unlike any other, and of course I enjoyed the lavish restaurants, shopping and casinos!

What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
Moving back to Lewiston/Auburrn. I knew the time was right when I came across this quote ““Is it time to go home yet? I keep clicking these darn shoes, but nothing happens”. You can’t sit around and wait for things to change, you have to take a chance and make things happen.
