In fall of 2006 our group began meeting monthly to discuss issues affecting young professionals in the Lewiston/Auburn area. We named ourselves The Betterment Committee – our goal to make L/A a better place to live, work & play. We seek to advocate for public policies that promote the retention and recruitment of young professionals in the Lewiston-Auburn area, provide educational opportunities on the process of political engagement, and set an agenda for local action.

Kevin Fletcher, Coldwell Banker Millett Realty, Co-Chair
Kevin Fletcher joined Coldwell Banker Millett Realty in 1998. He specializes in investment and income producing properties, retail, office, industrial, and development opportunities throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Mr. Fletcher holds the distinguished CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. This distinction of graduate-level certification is held by less than 5% of all commercial real estate practitioners in North America. Kevin serves as a Director of the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors, and is member of the Maine Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Kevin also serves on the Steering Committee and is co-chair of the Betterment Committee for YPLAA (Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area) and sits on the Business Advocacy Committee for the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Androscoggin Land Trust.
Kelly Jaeger, Bonney Staffing Center, Co-Chair
Kelly is the Branch Manager for BONNEY Staffing Center in Lewiston. In addition to YPLAA Kelly is a member of the Chamber Education Committee, the Central Maine Human Resource Association (CMHRA), and has been a regular participant in the New Mainers and WorkReady programs which provide basic training and work readiness skills to the unemployed. Kelly was raised in the Lewiston/Auburn area and attended Acadia University in Nova Scotia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Kelly currently resides in Auburn with her son.
